Alabama Missionary Welcome Home Cake

My little brother just got home from a Mission to Birmingham, Alabama and this was his welcome home cake. The cake is in the shape of Alabama with the state flag as the design on it. The kudzu plant is overtaking the cake. The suit and tie are to represent him and the slingshot is because he was shooting squirrels with a slingshot and skittles toward the beginning of the mission. We're SOOO glad to have him home! Love you little brother!!!

Legend of Zelda Birthday Cake

My son LOVES the Zelda games. Any form of Zelda, so when he requested the castle courtyard with Link and Zelda in it, I couldn't say no. This cake turned out a bit off with the sizes of things, but he loved it. It's all edible, even down to the fence and the two elves.

Zelda and Link. Happy Birthday sweet boy! (Your cake took FOREVER!!!!!) :)

Cherry Chocolate Birthday Cake

My dad's favorite flavor: Cherry chocolate! Chocolate cake, cherry frosting, cherries in the middle, ganache, and cherry chocolates on top. SOOO tasty!

Movie Star Cake

Apparently my kids really like having movie parties, so yet again, we had a movie themed cake. Rachel wanted the 'drapery' effect she's seen on Cake Boss, so I tried my hand at it. Not quite the direction I was wanting, but still turned out good. Plus, it's gluten free! Happy Birthday sweetheart!

Baby Shower Gift Box Cake

A sweet pink and black gift box cake for a baby shower. All decorations were fondant, except the tissue paper which I did with gum paste. I had so much fun with this one, I just wish I could get my edges a little sharper. Sorry, perfectionist in me talking.

Tasty Treats as a Thank You

We've had some Kung Fu guests this weekend, and as a thank you to them for being such great house guests, I made some fancy rose cakes to take home to their sweeties, and some cake ball-ca-bobs for them! (Not the best pictures. My lighting was bad. And, I really rushed this cake so I didn't get it to look quite like I wanted it to.)

2nd Missionary Suitcase Cake

This cake was a little more difficult than the last one because I used modeling chocolate to cover the cake. Much stiffer stuff but tasted fantastic.
