Shabby Chic Wedding Cake

I have to say, I love making wedding cakes when I get to just go with the 'ideas' of the bride and make something completely her own!  I used the bride's pinterest board of wedding ideas for this cake and it turned out amazingly!  The couple didn't want fondant and I loved doing just butter cream!

Each broach was handmade and completely edible minus the center gem in the darkest flower.  I love this little grouping!
Sugar roses, pearls and gold belted broach.

The groom is a high school track coach so of course he needed a golden running shoe!!  Gum paste laces added just the right touch!
I really love making sugar roses!

I was playing with taking pictures and this one almost has an ethereal feel to it!  The lighting was perfect!
Natural sunlight for a different look
One more look at this cute cluster!  Congratulations Brittany and Matt!!!  What a gorgeous couple you are!

Peanut Butter Cup Birthday Cake

Sometimes I like just making yummy cakes that look like they came from a gourmet bakery!  This would be one such cake.  Peanut butter brownie textured cake, Reese's peanut butter frosting filling and milk chocolate frosting.  One of my family's all time favorites!  Smelled like a little piece of heaven!!!

Cherry Limeade 'Mystery' Birthday Cake

I told my kids, "NO INTRICATE CAKES THIS YEAR!!!"  My goal instead is yummy flavors that look pretty.  Thus this cake.  We decided on vanilla cake, cherry cream cheese frosting and key lime curd filling.  Um, and I just say it was SOOOOO yummy and light and refreshing!  I'll be making this again!

And of course we had to throw a little fun into it.  My kids friends now expect something fabulous at the birthday parties and they couldn't understand why this cake was so cool.  My daughter had been pumping the cake up all week long.  We had this surprise inside.  Not the best pictures cause I tipped the cake over while cutting it.  But the reaction from the kids was priceless!  SKITTLES!!!  Too much fun!
Happy birthday Ali girl!  We love you oodles and oodles, or should I say, Skittles and skittles!!!

Baby Boy Baby Shower Cupcakes

These cupcakes were for 3 fabulous women who are all expecting baby boys!  I don't personally know the women, but they are all teachers at a local elementary school.  That's enough for me to know they are incredible.  Teachers are very under appreciated.  So hopefully these cupcakes helped them feel a little more special and loved!
The flavors were cherry chocolate cordial, key lime, and Reese's peanut butter.  Some of my all time favorites!
